G is for Gabriel, Peter Gabriel

PeterGabriel1977CdCover.car G is for Gabriel, Peter Gabriel

Somehow, I was mostly unaware of the medicine of the "progressive rock" group Genesis, which was formed in the later 1960s, until its 1974 album. The title cut to The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway [listen] got a bit of airplay in this area. Shortly afterwards this album, lead singer Peter Gabriel left the group over personal and artistic differences, with Phil Collins taking over the lead vocals of Genesis.

Mambo Taxi - Concert Reviews: Peter Gabriel, DJ Tiesto

So, 20 years ago, dan and I went to see Peter Gabriel play the Molson Amphitheatre near Toronto.

I haven't followed his music very close for the final few albums, but I have listened to enough Peter Gabriel over the days that I didn't need to overlook this opportunity. Thanks to my friend Justin who scored the tickets, we got excellent seats; about 10 or so rows from the stage.

I loved the Peter Gabriel Cover Story on Coverville last week. Covers by and of Peter Gabriel. It's here if you wish to listen.

peter-gabriel The Land Of The Nation UK: Top tracks - Peter Gabriel
I was first aware of Peter Gabriel when 'Games Without Frontiers' was a hit when I was young. It wasn't until the album 'So' was released in 1986 that I took serious observation of his talent. That album and the videos produced, made Peter into an international star after a 10 of solo releases that had provided success in Europe mainly.

I Advocate Feminism . a mini-blogzine: Just for 'fun: All abord .

While searching for music to accompany a recently-aired editorial on WXOU, a long-forgotten melody came to listen and would not leave. The strain is "Don't make up," a pair by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush from my favorite 80s album "So" released by Gabriel in 1986.I launch the picture on "YouTube" and for six minutes I was second in the 1980s.I was a different person living a different life with different thoughts - far from the person I am today.

Turn It on Again: The Hits (Rpkg)

Review by Lonnie E. Holder for Work It on Again: The Hits (Rpkg)Rating: departure of Peter Gabriel, which way that I was listening to top 40 Genesis versus the more challenging music attempted by Peter Gabriel. Despite the want of experiment and depth, Genesis did go out one serviceable song after another, and a few of these songs are excellent.
