peter gabriel

For fans of Peter Gabriel, the word "in your eyes" is near to hold on a different meaning, as the rock icon is set to turn a new concert film.

Entitled Peter Gabriel - New Blood, Live In London 3D, the film was filmed in high definition during a two-night run at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo in London last March, and features orchestral versions of about of the Grammy winner's most famous songs in a refreshingly intimate way.

Peter Gabriel III
melt C-Noise: Peter Gabriel III

Peter Gabriel (1980) ****

In my original review I claimed that all the drums were electronic, which on second thought isn't true - those are clearly real drums being played by Phil Collins on "Intruder". However, computerized drums are clearly being used on at least half the early tracks, and I don't wish to revision the entire review to factually correct a crucial sentence, so.

Mambo Taxi - Concert Reviews: Peter Gabriel, DJ Tiesto

So, 20 years ago, dan and I went to see Peter Gabriel play the Molson Amphitheatre near Toronto.

I haven't followed his music very close for the final few albums, but I have listened to enough Peter Gabriel over the days that I didn't need to overlook this opportunity. Thanks to my friend Justin who scored the tickets, we got excellent seats; about 10 or so rows from the stage.

Peter Gabriel brings orchestral act to . - Boston Music Spotlight

There`s no wonder that throughout his career Peter Gabriel has ever been in research of something new and different. From his flamboyant costumes in the 70′s, to his shocking departure from Genesis, to his current orchestral work, Gabriel has made some interesting decisions but managed to get success in each. Gabriel continued his successful streak with a mellow, yet captivating performance with the New Blood Orchestra at the Comcast Center on Friday.

Peter Gabriel will play Red Rocks tonight with a full orchestra rather than a traditional backing band. If that weren`t odd enough, it`s his first U.S. tour since the departure of his recent, rather disappointingalbum of cover songs "Scratch My Back.

lyrics mix: PETER GABRIEL lyrics - That Sound Again

head

it's colouring everything

all we did and said

and notwithstanding I mind that sharp tongue talking

talking tangled words

I can feel the danger

just listen to the wind

I need you close I require you near

I can't help but listen

but I don't need to hear

hear that sound again

I wish to be with you

I wish to be clear

but each time I try

it's the part I hear

I see that sound again

I'm hearing right and wrong so clearly

there must be more than this

it's simply in uncertainty

that we're bare and alive

I see it done the rattling of a streetcar

hear it done the things you said

I can get so scared

listen to the wind

I need you close I require you near

I can't help but listen

but I don't need to hear

hear that sound again

what I hold in my heart

brings us so tight or so far apart

only love can have love

I need you close I require you near

I can't help but listen

but I don't need to hear

I see that sound again

I wish to be with you

I wish to be clear

but each time I try

it's the part I hear

I see that sound again

Sin Come Talk To Me (feat. Peter Gabriel) Lyrics

me
In the swirling, curling storm of desire unuttered words hold fast
With reptile tongue, the lightning lashes towers built to last
Darkness creeps in like a thief and offers no relief
Why are you shaking like a leaf
Come on, come speak to me
Ah please speak to me
Won`t you please speak to me
We can unlock this misery
Come on, come speak to me
I did not do to steal
This all is so unreal
Can`t you shew me how you feeling now
Come on, come speak to me
Come speak to me
Come speak to me
The earthly power sucks shadowed milk from sleepy tears undone
From nippled skin as quiet as silk the bugles blown as one
You lie there with your eyes half closed like there`s no-one there at all
There`s a tension pulling on your face
Come on, come speak to me

Won`t you please speak to me
If you`d just talking to me
Unblock this misery
If you`d only speak to me
Don`t you ever change your mind
Now your future`s so defined
And you act so indifferent and blind
Come on, come speak to me
Come speak to me
Come speak to me
I can guess the moment
Breaking out through the silence
All the things that we both might say
And the kernel it leave not be denied
`til we`re both on the same damn side
All the barriers blown away
I said please speak to me
Won`t you please come speak to me
Just wish it used to be
Come on, come speak to me
I did not do to steal

Peter Gabriel 5: Birdy

A hidden gem in his pantheon, Peter Gabriel`s soundtrack for the Alan Parker film Birdy is at the same time one of his least known projects and one of his most satisfying. The movie wasn`t a huge hit, and since Peter`s own snail`s pace work ethic meant that it wasn`t released until well after the picture had left theaters, the album has gone mostly unnoticed.

Peter Gabriel 4: Security

For his fourth solo album, Peter somehow let his new label Geffen (soon to get a report for interfering with their artists) release it below the title Security. And so it has remained, despite still being titled simply Peter Gabriel in the pillow of the world. (Plus, German-speaking countries got their own version again, this sentence in a markedly different mix.

In The Studio WithPeter Gabriel

As a kid I rarely read comic books, with the exclusion of the few minutes waiting down at the corner barbershop for a haircut. The conception of a person inexplicably endowed with superhuman powers of strength, speed, flight, sight,or reason that they could use for either right or evil, seemed but too absurd .

The Say Of The Nation UK: Top tracks - Peter Gabriel

peter-gabriel The Land Of The Nation UK: Top tracks - Peter Gabriel
I was first aware of Peter Gabriel when 'Games Without Frontiers' was a hit when I was young. It wasn't until the album 'So' was released in 1986 that I took serious observation of his talent. That album and the videos produced, made Peter into an international star after a 10 of solo releases that had provided success in Europe mainly.

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway: A Musing and Memoir

Music.

Memory.

For me the two are inexorably linked. There is no easier way for me to go into the press of my biography and pulling out an old edition of my self, put it on, remember what it was comparable to bear that self every day, and look where and how that ego does and doesn't fit any more than to put something on from the past.

Maggie Gyllenhaal Thinks Taylor Swift Is 'Great', Jack Dorsey's .

The holiday season has its part of lavish parties - some exist for the highly legitimate use of providing an apology to set up, others for an actual cause. Last night`s WITNESS`, co-founded by Peter Gabriel, Focus for Change Benefit Dinner & Concert at Roseland was unquestionably the latter.

Peter Gabriel did not grace the point as aperformer, although he said he was looking ahead to a pair between Corvus and reggae legend Jimmy Cliff.

Live Sound: Dante Utilized On The Peter Gabriel New Blood, Scratch .

The Peter Gabriel "New Blood, Scratch My Back Tour" is nothing less than spectacular.

For this tour it`s only Peter, and a 54 piece orchestra. No drums, no guitars.

Peter and the New Blood Orchestra performed cover songs to sellouts at amphitheaters and arenas throughout Europe this form and fall.

Due to the infinite of technical complexities throughout the tour, Audinate`s digital media networking technology Dante, was chosen by Brit Row Productions.

Making Beautiful 'Le Noise' Together - Jewelry bloggers

Neil Young`s fans have long known he`s a stickler about sound. There`s nothing unpremeditated when he summons thick lava surges of electric-guitar distortion or when he plucks acoustic-guitar chords to call in pristine solitude. So maybe it was inevitable that he would end up collaborating with another careful shaper of replication and depth, Daniel Lanois, the manufacturer who has opened up somber spaces on albums by U2, Peter Gabriel, the Neville Brothers and Bob Dylan.
